I am proud to have been the Head Coach for USA’s swim team at the 2013 Deaflympics in Bulgaria.  I hope to be a role model for future generations of deaf athletes. The USADSF offers great opportunities for deaf athletes to compete on an international level, which is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In Portugal and Bulgaria, I had a great time bonding with fellow American athletes and mingling with athletes from other countries. I was learning new signs as soon as I met new people, everyone was friendly and inclusive. I appreciated how the USADSF took care of all the errands and organized our international events to run as smoothly as possible so athletes were able to train, focus on their events and also enjoy sightseeing as a way to unwind.
