USADSF Board Members Present at the National Association of the Deaf Conference

USA Deaf Sports Federation (USADSF) Board members Brianne Burger and Jeff Mansfield presented at the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Conference in Hartford, Connecticut. On Friday, July 6, 2018, Brianne and Jeff discussed "The Power of Sport: Deaflympics and the Deaf Sports Movement", with panelists Tom Wells, Former Deaflympian in Soccer and Orienteering, and Chris Majeri, Former Deaflympian in Soccer. Brianne shared a brief overview of USADSF, the International Committee on Sports for the Deaf (ICSD), and upcoming events. Jeff explained the various ways to donate or sponsor Team USA athletes through USADSF, discussed the importance of Deaf Sports within the Deaf community, and why Deaf Sports should be a top priority to future generations. Over 15 former Deaflympian athletes, former ICSD President Donalda Ammons, several National Sport Organization leaders, as well as fans who had attended international competitions watched the panel, along with many newcomers.  We received an outpouring of suggestions and requests, including to create a networking group for current and former athletes and coaches who have attended international competitions, representing the USA on the world stage at the Deaflympics, Pan American Games and World Championships. If you were a part of Team USA in an international competition such as the Deaflympics, Pan American Games and/or World Championships, please join the "USA Deaflympic Athletes Network" Group on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2150215578596663/?source_id=172034036172950 USADSF wishes to thank Chris Majeri and Tom Wells for sharing their experiences and to all those who attended the panel and provided us with inspiration for future events and networking!
