Worthington Inducted into AVCA Hall of Fame

Peg Worthington, a coach who served five USA Deaf Volleyball Deaflympic teams, has been inducted into the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Worthington's volleyball coaching and athletic career has spanned nearly four decades. Worthington, who amassed a career record of 615-305 in 24 years as head coach at Gallaudet University, in addition to two gold, two silver and one bronze medal winning teams at the Deaflympics, was named among three other inductees in the 11th annual Hall of Fame ceremony for AVAC. Worthington, who was known for her leadership and credibility, is respected in the volleyball community and international Deaflympics for her outstanding leadership and support of women sports. Worthington will be inducted at the 2013 AVAC Convention in Seattle, Wash.
