ICSD Associate Members Policy

The ICSD Associate Members/International Deaf Sport Federations are recognized by the International Deaf Sports Federation and are responsible for the technical aspect of their specific sport as described in ICSD Constitution. The USA Deaf Sports Federation shall be a member of all ICSD Associate Members and be a primary contact for handling administrative matters, and may choose to delegate these responsibilities to a National Sport Organization (NSO) in accordance with the following:

National Sport Organizations (NSOs) are expected to comply with all USADSF policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

By becoming a representative of a specific sport of the associate member, NSOs agree to the following statements:

  1. Agree to pay Associate Membership dues when billed.
  2. Agree to abide by any and all USADSF policies including USADSF Code of Conduct as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
  3. Accept and will uphold the principles of USADSF's Zero Tolerance Policy. All USADSF members shall have equal access to its program, facilities, and employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, disability, public assistance status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
  4. Understand that the NSO and its representatives must work with USADSF and align with USADSF's mission.
  5. Understand that the NSO and its representatives are not able to enter into any contract on behalf of USADSF.
  6. Understand that USADSF will send a USADSF delegate and a representative from its sport organization to the Congresses of the Associate Members, unless otherwise delegated by USADSF.
  7. Understand that the NSO must be currently in good standing with USADSF.
  8. Understand that USADSF may suspend or terminate membership if a NSO is no longer interested in membership, or is in violation of organizational policies and procedures. Dues will not be refunded due to cancellation, suspension or termination of membership.
  9. Notwithstanding exceptions reviewed on a case by case basis by the USADSF Board.
