MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA — Gallaudet Senior and Deaflympic hopeful Eric Gregory completed his second defense of the national title in the 400M dash with a time of 45.73 seconds. Despite weather delays that pushed the event into the night under the lights at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium, Gregory improved on his 2023 title-clinching time of 45.93. Gregory's performance also set a new outdoor school record for Gallaudet and was the second fastest in Division III history.

Just 90 minutes later, Gregory posted a 26.70 time in the 200M, just 0.1 seconds off his own Deaf World Record, to finish second.

Gregory's performance puts him within reach of legendary sprinter and Hall of Famer Wendell Gaskin's Deaf World Record of 45.29, established 30 years ago in 1994.
