Sibling Duo Judy and Jay Yang Capture PanAmerican Success


PARA DE MINAS, BRAZIL—The American brother-sister duo of Judy Yang and Jay Yang captured success at the PanAmerican Deaf Badminton Championships from April 13-16 in Para de Minas, Brazil.


In the Men's Singles event, Jay Yang came up on top to claim first place, while Judy Yang captured the second slot in the Women's Singles. The duo also paired up to win the Mixed Doubles tournament.


In addition, Jay Yang partnered with Brazil's Gabriel Hovelacque de Faria to win first place in the Men's Doubles, while Judy Yang partnered with Brazil's Geisa Vieira de Oliveira to take first place in the Women's Doubles.


The siblings ended up with a haul of five first-place medals and one second place medal for a total of six medals. The Yangs next set their sights on the World Deaf Badminton Championships, which will also be held in Para de Minas, Brazil from July 13-25, 2023.
