USA Deaf Cycling Completes Slate at the 2024 Worlds

SWIETOKRZYSKIE, POLAND – The 2024 edition of the World Deaf Cycling Championships, held from September 6-15, delivered an unforgettable road race with a nail-biting finish on a challenging climb that saw strong performances from the American men and women. Veteran and 2022 Deaflympian Chris Khanoyan delivered the top American result, finishing 28 seconds behind the winner, Greece's Panagiotis Chioni, to claim seventh place.

In the Women's Road Race, Lindsay Buchko was the top American cyclist, finishing in the sixth slot a 1:51 behind the winner. Brittany Skjeveland also finished in the top ten in the women's road race.


In the sprint event, spectators witnessed an electrifying race where cyclists went head-to-head over a short distance. It all began with a flying 200M time trial to determine the seeding for the knockout rounds. The event took place on a unique course set up on an airport runway, adding an extra layer of excitement.


In the women's sprint, Brittany Skjeveland again finished in the top ten, in 7th place, joined by Emelia Beldon, who finished one spot below, and Courtney Skjeveland, who finished in tenth. In the men's sprint, Dmitry Rossoshansky finished 14th for the top American result.
