Together We Win

USADSF provides American athletes who are deaf or hard of hearing the opportunity to represent our country at the Deaflympics. In its 70 years of existence, the USADSF has produced national champions, international record-breakers and Deaflympic medalists.

A lack of sustainable funding to compete in the prestigious International events has forced athletes and coaches to pay out of pocket upwards of $5,000 to compete. Unfortunately their focus is not on strength conditioning or refining techniques, but how to fund their dreams of representing their country.

These athletes and coaches deserve a fair shot at Gold, but they need help from their fellow Americans. With the proper training and support that is afforded to world-class elite athletes in the same sport, deaf athletes are capable of Olympic-level achievements.

It takes a team of committed individuals to achieve goals, and our goal is to help athletes achieve theirs. Donate today and help us raise the funds we need to send our athletes to the Deaflympics. Together we win.

I was absolutely thrilled at the opportunity to represent my country, and intensely curious about the worldwide deaf community. That was the first time I understood that these people were my people, this was my culture. I finally felt like I belonged.

SNOWBOARDING

I’ve been in many local and national competitions, but the 2015 Deaflympics in Russia was my first time competing against deaf peers. The Deaflympics is such a positive and enriching experience, especially if you come from a place where you're one of the very few deaf people in your community.

Raising the money for competitions was quite hard, but it was worth the effort. I appreciated the opportunity to meet deaf athletes from countries around the world. I brought home more than just medals, I met new people and made new friendships that will last a lifetime.

When I traveled to Sofia, Bulgaria with USADSF for the 2013 Deaflympics, my overall experience was great. Our team didn't have any funding and we had to pay out of pocket, but USADSF worked hard at preparing our team for the trip, and our apparel, lodging and meals were excellent.

Athletes from all over the US are able to dream big and reach for the highest possible level for Deaf athletes. Without USADSF, we would not have the opportunity to perform at such an elite level.

My overall experience with USADSF has been great! I was raised as an oral deaf child, and being involved with deaf culture has always amazed me & motivated me to learn sign language so I can communicate with them as well as my hearing peers.

I hope to be a role model for future generations of deaf athletes. The USADSF offers great opportunities for deaf athletes to compete on an international level, which is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
