About Wrestling

The sport of wrestling is an ancient combat sport played by many civilizations through the ages. Each civilization had their own philosophy and developed rules to dictate their version of grappling. Today, greco-roman and freestyle wrestling are two of the most widely-known disciplines and these two are featured in world deaf championships and the Deaflympics.

US wrestlers have been bringing home medals since the 1961 Deaflympics. The USADSF continues to promote the sport of wrestling among the deaf and hard of hearing community, and creates opportunities for wrestlers to participate in local, national and international wrestling competitions.
